  1. New exhibition at the Modernism Museum-- Space Oddities: The Sequel

    The Modernism Museum Mount Dora is pleased to announce its new exhibition, Space Oddities: The Sequel. The exhibition opens on Tuesday, July 9th and will run until mid-2020. Space Oddities: The Sequel expands upon the Modernism Museum’s exhibition of mind-bending Post-Modern designs created by the radical 1980s design collective known as Memphis. This exhibit features hundreds of new Memphis design objects never-before displayed at the Modernism Museum. A members-only opening reception will be held on Wednesday, July 10th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the Modernism Museum gallery. This event is only open to 3MD Members; however, memberships will be available for purchase at the event. Individual-level Memberships start at $40 and several levels are available.     New to the ukulele? Interested in jamming with other adults? Learn and play together in our new ukulele class for adults and explore chords, strumming techniques, and learn easy songs. Please bring your own ukulele to class. Teens and tweens are also welcome. Ukulele class meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM (in the Library) and on the fourth Saturday of the month at 10:00 AM (at the Simpson Farmhouse).

  2. Herbs in the Florida Garden

    Most of the common herbs can be grown seasonally in Florida in sufficient quantities for home use. Many herbs may be grown in the Florida home garden throughout the year. Learn about a variety of herbs that may be grown in Central Florida and how to plant, care for and harvest herbs. Learn about additional resources available at UF/IFAS Extension. Class is taught by a UF/IFAS Extension, Lake County Master Gardener. No registration required. All attendees receive door prize tickets for door prizes! Sponsored by the Mount Dora Library Association.

  1. Sweet Peas a Baby Story Time

    Saturdays at 10:30 am, beginning January 26, 2019. Announcing a special story time for babies up to 15 months as well as expectant parents. Meet other caregivers while supporting your baby’s early development needs. Staff have been specially trained on the latest best practices for infant and in utero story times. Infant story times are structured differently because the needs of babies are so different! Toddlers who are brought to this story time will have a special role as well. Thanks to the Friends of the Library, this story time has new books and new developmentally appropriate toys. Parents and babies are welcome to stay for play and explore following the story time.
