City Council
Title: Councilmember, District 3
Phone: (305) 606-6091

Dennis grew up in Brookfield, Wisconsin in the middle of eight siblings.  He graduated from the University of Dallas with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Philosophy and later obtained his Masters in Organizational Development from The American University in Washington, DC.

For over 25 years, he has been working as an organizational change management professional. Initially with Price Waterhouse, then PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM before starting his own change management consulting company, People & Performance Solutions.  He worked with Fortune 100 companies transitioning to new systems and processes in the areas of supply chain, manufacturing, human resources and finance in industries ranging from oil and gas, retail, defense contracting, technology and pharmaceuticals.  In 2020, he left consulting and joined Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as the Director of Enterprise Change Management where he is currently helping the organization navigate through transformational initiatives that positively impact patient experiences and outcomes.

Seven years ago, Dennis and his husband, Jason Emilio, discovered Mount Dora during the annual bike festival. They were immediately attracted to the charm of historic downtown, the city’s beautiful surroundings and the friendly community. It was not long before they found a home in the Pinecrest neighborhood and joined our community after twenty years living in South Florida.

Excited for the opportunity to serve Mount Dora District 3 residents, Dennis looks forward to working with City Council in addressing issues of concerns, preserve the historical character of our community and find viable solutions to continue to move the city forward.

Dennis is an avid endurance sports fanatic, completing a number of Ironman competitions and marathons.   His greatest endurance accomplishment has been qualifying and competing in the 2013 Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.  You may see Dennis walking around District 3 with Cian, their rescued golden retriever or running through the city’s streets training for his next marathon.
