Whenever someone complains about some of the inconveniences created by our festivals, we're always told they increase our home values. Now, based on my estimated property tax notice, the city is considering raising the city tax significantly higher than all other taxes. This will make our homes harder to sell. Eustis and Tavares should love it. There are several other ways to raise revenue such as charging for boat parking; get Mount Dora Marina to manage the useless docks built for the Antique Boat Show by setting them up for on water long term docking; get the downtown landlords to setup off street merchant parking to increase visitor parking; other ideas. Let's get creative and save our home values.
