  5. Microsoft Excel: Basics

    Learn how to use Excel to organize numbers and text in a spreadsheet format. Excel spreadsheets can be used for budgets, work and school projects, record-keeping, lists, inventories, and more. By the end of this class you should be able to create and format a spreadsheet; enter and edit data; and use basic formulas to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers in a horizontal row or vertical column. Attendees will use PCs in the W.T. Bland Public Library Technology Lab, which have Microsoft Excel 2016 installed.

  7. Beginning Digital Photography

    "Where is the flash? What about the batteries? What do these buttons do? Can my shots be edited on the camera? How do I focus my shots?" This class will answer these basic questions. Instructor Steve Berger is a photographer with years of photography instruction experience. This class is a hands-on workshop for beginners. You'll learn how to operate your digital camera and practice taking shots during class. Please bring your digital camera (make sure it is charged).

  9. Laura Sobbott Ross, Lake County's Poet Laureate

    Meet Laura Sobbott Ross, the Lake County Library System's first Poet Laureate, for readings, discussion and a Q&A session. Laura is a widely published award-winning poet whose work has appeared in more than 100 literary journals. In addition to four Pushcart Prize nominations, she was a finalist for the Art & Letters Poetry Prize and won the Southern Humanities Auburn Witness Poetry Prize. She has published two chapbooks, "A Tiny Hunger" and "My Mississippi," and a third book, "The Graffiti of Pompeii," is scheduled for publication this year. All are welcome and no registration is required. Refreshments will be served. Sponsored by the Mount Dora Library Association.
