  1. New exhibition at the Modernism Museum-- Space Oddities: The Sequel

    July 9, 2019, 10:00 AM - July 1, 2020, 5:00 PM @ Modernism Museum Mount Dora

    The Modernism Museum Mount Dora is pleased to announce its new exhibition, Space Oddities: The Sequel. The exhibition opens on Tuesday, July 9th and will run until mid-2020. Space Oddities: The Sequel expands upon the Modernism Museum’s exhibition of mind-bending Post-Modern designs created by the radical 1980s design collective known as Memphis. This exhibit features hundreds of new Memphis design objects never-before displayed at the Modernism Museum. A members-only opening reception will be held on Wednesday, July 10th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the Modernism Museum gallery. This event is only open to 3MD Members; however, memberships will be available for purchase at the event. Individual-level Memberships start at $40 and several levels are available.   4. Lake & Orange Counties: A Century of Change

    The Modernism Museum presents our next Dine & Learn at 1921 Mount Dora: Lake & Orange Counties: A Century of Change featuring Jim Crescitelli of the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation on Thursday, September 19th, 2019 at 12:30 PM (luncheon) and 6:30 PM (dinner). The event will take place at the Modernism Museum’s award-winning restaurant, 1921 Mount Dora (recently voted #1 Best Restaurant in Lake County by Orlando Magazine). The cost is $35 a three-course, prix-fixe menu with lecture included. Join the Modernism Museum and Jim Crescitelli in a discussion of the history of West Orange County and the Lake Apopka region through the people who settled here. Native Americans, pioneers drawn from the Deep South, farmers and citrus workers, and people brought here by 20th century theme parks and the aerospace industry all shaped this part of Central Florida.     W.T. Bland Public Library Technology Lab Registration begins 1/2/2019 at 8:00 AM Learn how to use Excel to organize numbers and text in a spreadsheet format. Excel spreadsheets can be used for budgets, work and school projects, record-keeping, lists, inventories, and more. By the end of this class you should be able to create and format a spreadsheet; enter and edit data; and use basic formulas to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers in a horizontal row or vertical column. Attendees will use PCs in the W.T. Bland Public Library Technology Lab, which have Microsoft Excel 2016 installed.

    "Where is the flash? What about the batteries? What do these buttons do? Can my shots be edited on the camera? How do I focus my shots?" This class will answer these basic questions.
