Backflow Prevention

Cross Connection Control Program

The City of Mount Dora’s Cross Connection Control Program (CCCP) safeguards Mount Dora’s public drinking water supply from unintentional contamination. Cross connections occur anywhere the public water supply is connected to any other potentially contaminated source. These cross connections can pose a hazard if contaminated water from a customer is forced back into the public water supply. This is known as backflow.

The CCCP's goal is to keep our water supply safe by preventing the occurrence of backflow, thus protecting the health of our residents.

The City understands that there may be potential delays in the installation backflow devices.  Please contact the City’s contract backflow inspection company, HydroCorp Inc. (phone 844-493-7660) with your “compliance plans” if you have received a second notice of non-compliance.  The City Utility will not take action against those businesses who have a “compliance plan” on file unless a backflow event is indicated with the City’s smart water meter system to protect the public health.
