Josef Grusauskas has 30 years of environmental management experience. Joe grew up in Florida and obtained his undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University in Physics and a master’s degree in Adult Education/Human Resource Administration from Barry University. He holds many Public Works’ certifications including specialty Florida utility licenses as a Water and Wastewater Operator.
Joe has accumulated a wealth of environmental management experience building sustainable services for utility customers. He started his government experience as an Environmental Specialist in Martin County, FL and worked his way up to Director there and at other governments in the Treasure Coast and Central Florida area. Joe has successfully managed everything from smaller city systems and large regional county facilities over his career.
His work experience includes permitting, financing, design, construction and operation of public facilities and services. Some highlights include:
Environmental construction projects up to $15 M Dollars.
Operational budget administration of up to $12 M/Yr Dollars
Strategic and regional master facility planning
Complex ecological permit monitoring, compliance and remediation
Management and team building of up to 130 staff members
Joe’s goal with his tenure with the City of Mount Dora is to use his knowledge and experience to help develop an outstanding sustainable utility system for the growing community that is both safe and efficient.
