Learn the answers to these and other questions about Mount Dora's past as local historian Gary McKechnie presents tales from 'A Brief History of Mount Dora' (signed copies available), co-authored with his wife, Nancy Howell. Back by popular demand, in this entertaining and informative FREE presentation Gary will introduce a few new stories and some of the notable personalities that helped make Mount Dora what it is today.

    Florida’s springs and aquifer are facing unique challenges: encroaching development, growth, recreational use, agricultural run-off, etc. Learn more about the health of Florida’s springs and what you can do to help. The Florida Springs Council, Inc. (FSC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit coalition founded in 2014, composed of 53 member organizations representing over 60,000 Floridians. The mission of the Florida Springs Council is to ensure the restoration, preservation and protection for future generations of Florida’s springs and the Floridan aquifer that sustains those springs and provides our drinking water.
