  1. New exhibition at the Modernism Museum-- Space Oddities: The Sequel

    The Modernism Museum Mount Dora is pleased to announce its new exhibition, Space Oddities: The Sequel. The exhibition opens on Tuesday, July 9th and will run until mid-2020. Space Oddities: The Sequel expands upon the Modernism Museum’s exhibition of mind-bending Post-Modern designs created by the radical 1980s design collective known as Memphis. This exhibit features hundreds of new Memphis design objects never-before displayed at the Modernism Museum. A members-only opening reception will be held on Wednesday, July 10th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the Modernism Museum gallery. This event is only open to 3MD Members; however, memberships will be available for purchase at the event. Individual-level Memberships start at $40 and several levels are available.   4. The New World Music Band: Caribbean Salsa, Live at the Museum!

    September 7, 2019, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM @ Modernism Museum Mount Dora

    Modernism Museum Mount Dora welcomes back The New World Music Band, led by flute and saxophone virtuoso Gabriel de David, on Saturday, September 7th at 7:00pm. A sparkling and white wine will preceded the performance at 6:30pm. The New World Music Band is back at the museum for another fabulous night of lively Caribbean jazz. Get up and dance to some of the hottest live salsa in the Orlando area, played by some of Orlando’s most talented Latin jazz musicians. The New World Music Band features a quartet of guitar, drums and percussion, all led by Gabriel de David on flute and saxophone. Admission is $20 for 3MD members and $30 for non-members and includes sparkling and white wine. Doors open at 6:30 PM.     Come watch, learn, and play chess. All skill levels and ages are welcome! Beginners will learn basic moves and then be paired with a player. Beginners are especially welcome! Studies have shown that chess may raise students' IQ and help prevent Alzheimer's. Chess is call "the game of kings" and will boost your creativity, memory, and problem-solving skills. Drop in anytime between 10:00am and noon, on the first and third Saturday of each month. No registration required.

  1. Sweet Peas a Baby Story Time

    Saturdays at 10:30 am, beginning January 26, 2019. Announcing a special story time for babies up to 15 months as well as expectant parents. Meet other caregivers while supporting your baby’s early development needs. Staff have been specially trained on the latest best practices for infant and in utero story times. Infant story times are structured differently because the needs of babies are so different! Toddlers who are brought to this story time will have a special role as well. Thanks to the Friends of the Library, this story time has new books and new developmentally appropriate toys. Parents and babies are welcome to stay for play and explore following the story time.
