The Modernism Museum Mount Dora is pleased to announce its new exhibition, Space Oddities: The Sequel. The exhibition opens on Tuesday, July 9th and will run until mid-2020.
Space Oddities: The Sequel expands upon the Modernism Museum’s exhibition of mind-bending Post-Modern designs created by the radical 1980s design collective known as Memphis. This exhibit features hundreds of new Memphis design objects never-before displayed at the Modernism Museum.
A members-only opening reception will be held on Wednesday, July 10th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the Modernism Museum gallery. This event is only open to 3MD Members; however, memberships will be available for purchase at the event. Individual-level Memberships start at $40 and several levels are available. The City of Mount Dora will be holding a special ceremony at the Tree of Hope and Memories on August 30, 2019 at 1 p.m.
Mayor Nick Girone would like to invite the public to join City Officials at the Tree of Hope and Memories in Donnelly Park to celebrate a life that was taken too soon.
During the ceremony, Mayor Girone will read a proclamation declaring September as Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month at the Tree. Erica Schneider, mother of 1 ½-year-old Aiden Schneider, who died from pediatric cancer in 2015, will also say a few words.
