March 6, 2019, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ 1921 Mount Dora
This incredibly engaging session is led by former teacher and art expert Herve Le Guilloux. In this Dine & Learn, Mr. Le Guilloux will discuss the development and refinement of European cuisine from the 14th to 17th centuries. For all classes of society, Renaissance food culture evolved through social mores, and scientific and medical beliefs.
When did diet books first commonly appear? What might Leonardo da Vinci have eaten; what did his kitchen look like? What are the roots of the Italian cuisine we enjoy today? How were westernized table manners adopted and refined? Learn what shaped the diets of the era, as related through art, narratives and literature of the times.
