The Modernism Museum Mount Dora is pleased to announce its new exhibition, Space Oddities: The Sequel. The exhibition opens on Tuesday, July 9th and will run until mid-2020.
Space Oddities: The Sequel expands upon the Modernism Museum’s exhibition of mind-bending Post-Modern designs created by the radical 1980s design collective known as Memphis. This exhibit features hundreds of new Memphis design objects never-before displayed at the Modernism Museum.
A members-only opening reception will be held on Wednesday, July 10th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the Modernism Museum gallery. This event is only open to 3MD Members; however, memberships will be available for purchase at the event. Individual-level Memberships start at $40 and several levels are available. “Plein Air” is French for painting out-of-doors. For one week in November MDCA hosts a plein air paint out which brings artists from all over the area to Mount Dora to paint the scenic lakefront and quaint cottages. The work from the Paint Out is exhibited and awards are given for the top three works. Opening reception: November 8th, 2019 6-8 PM.

In this lean no-nonsense session, Michael Anderson will present ways to get your stories published without writing an entire book. "When there's not a full novel inside you, submitting your writing to anthology editors can be an alternative way to become published and build your author platform." Also, learn about a local anthology initiative.
Refreshments served; registration is required.

The Help & Healing for Parents of Estranged Adult Children is a monthly support group meeting at the Simpson Farmhouse on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 6:00 PM. Join with other adults to share insights, greater understanding and ideas on grieving and healing. Moderated discussion format is loosely based upon the book Done with the Crying, by Sheri McGregor, M.A.
No registration required; adult refreshments will be served.
