  2. K-9 Memorial Service for Stryker and Titan

    November 1, 2019, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Mount Dora Police Department

The Mount Dora Police Department will be having Memorial Service for K9s Stryker and Titan on November 1, 2019 at 10 a.m. in front of the Mount Dora Police Department. After an injury in 2017 and a long struggle with his health, K-9 Stryker passed away in November 2018. K-9 Titan was retired in December 2018 after numerous injuries and passed away May 2019. The K-9 teams participated in several demonstrations for our schools and community partners to educate kids and residents on the value of having K-9 teams as part of our Mount Dora Police family. Many arrests and numerous drug seizures were a result of these K-9 teams. “Words cannot describe what the loss of these two dedicated K9s has meant not only to their handlers and the agency, but to the community as a whole,” said Police Chief Robert Bell. Two bricks will be laid at the K-9 Memorial site located in front of the Mount Dora Police Department.
