The Modernism Museum Mount Dora is pleased to announce its new exhibition, Space Oddities: The Sequel. The exhibition opens on Tuesday, July 9th and will run until mid-2020.
Space Oddities: The Sequel expands upon the Modernism Museum’s exhibition of mind-bending Post-Modern designs created by the radical 1980s design collective known as Memphis. This exhibit features hundreds of new Memphis design objects never-before displayed at the Modernism Museum.
A members-only opening reception will be held on Wednesday, July 10th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the Modernism Museum gallery. This event is only open to 3MD Members; however, memberships will be available for purchase at the event. Individual-level Memberships start at $40 and several levels are available. Fundraising exhibit for Breast Cancer Awareness. Artists are given “bust” forms that are decorated using media of their choice. Proceeds from sales of the artwork benefit go to cancer research. Opening reception: October 11th, 2019 6-8 PM.

Adults are invited to celebrate the music of Karen and Richard Carpenter, taking you back to a simpler time, your time, when heart-felt music touched so many lives, with love. Enjoy a tribute to Karen Carpenter’s clean, clear, mellow sound sung by Shannon Rae, along with piano accompaniment, as Richard Carpenter provided by J.J. Speights.

The Help & Healing for Parents of Estranged Adult Children is a monthly support group meeting at the Simpson Farmhouse on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 6:00 PM. Join with other adults to share insights, greater understanding and ideas on grieving and healing. Moderated discussion format is loosely based upon the book Done with the Crying, by Sheri McGregor, M.A.
No registration required; adult refreshments will be served.
