  1. Chess Club

    May 5, 2018, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Study Room

    Come watch, learn, and play chess. All skill levels and ages are welcome! Beginners will learn basic moves and then be paired with a player. Beginners are especially welcome! Studies have shown that chess may raise students' IQ and help prevent Alzheimer's. Chess is call "the game of kings" and will boost your creativity, memory, and problem-solving skills. Drop in anytime between 10:00am and noon, on the first and third Saturday of each month. No registration required.

  2. Mount Dora Dulcimer Society

    Join the Mount Dora Dulcimer Society at your Library on the first Saturday of the month. All acoustic instruments are welcome: violin, guitar, autoharp, ukulele, etc. This group is open to all and registration is not required.

    Enjoy the beauty of butterflies released in our Nunan Butterfly Garden at this popular annual event. This year marks the 6th annual Butterfly Release. All ages are welcome and no registration is required. Schedule: 11:00 AM - All About Butterflies - adult program with refreshments in the Community Room 11:30 AM - Dulcimer Society of Mount Dora performance in the Nunan Butterfly Garden 11:45 AM - Butterfly release in the Nunan Butterfly Garden noon - Children's crafts and treats in the Children's Program Room This event is sponsored by both the Friends of the Library and the Mount Dora Library Association.

  1. Babysitter's Training Certification

    Ages 11 - 15 yrs old Come join the City of Mount Dora Community Recreation Services Department for this opportunity to become an American Red Cross certified babysitter. During this class you will learn the ins and outs of babysitting as well as getting your Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification (dependent upon passing the final written exam).
