  1. Take a Breath of Nature Hike and Presentation

    April 29, 2017, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Trout Lake Nature Center

Veterans have sacrificed much to make our lives better and safer. TLNC will be hosting a nature hike as a tribute to veterans, followed by a presentation. These events are part of the City of Eustis’ Moving Wall Vietnam Veterans Memorial activities. Although the Moving Wall is for Vietnam veterans, TLNC will be honoring ALL veterans. Veterans, family member and just plain folks (young and old) who want to honor veterans are encouraged to come to TLNC to “take a breath of nature”. At the conclusion of the walk, a presentation will be given in the Education Building about the value of nature for our health and well-being. Join us for the walk or presentation as a way to honor the military men and women of our country and their families. Participants should be prepared to begin the hike at 9 a.m. and the hike will start from the portico of the Education Building. The presentation will begin at 10 a.m.

  1. 3rd Annual Mount Dora Blueberry Festival

    April 29, 2017, 9:00 AM - April 30, 2017, 5:00 PM @ Elizabeth Evans Park

The 3rd Annual Mount Dora Blueberry Festival comes to the shores of Lake Dora at Elizabeth Evans Park in Mount Dora, FL April 29-30, 2017. Long known as The Festival City for its many and varied festivals, Mount Dora will host what is destined to become a large, economically important festival celebrating the growing agricultural importance of blueberries to the Central Florida economy. Since the demise of citrus throughout much of Florida, blueberry fields full of berry varieties developed specifically for the Florida climate have supplied the growing demand for fresh home-grown fruit on consumers' tables. With a current crop totaling about 17 million pounds, we have a long way to go to equal the 100 million pounds produced in neighboring Georgia. We will catch up and, in time, exceed Georgia. Help in the effort to make blueberries a major agricultural crop in Florida. Visit the Mount Dora Blueberry Festival.
