  1. New exhibition at the Modernism Museum-- Space Oddities: The Sequel

    July 9, 2019, 10:00 AM - July 1, 2020, 5:00 PM @ Modernism Museum Mount Dora

    The Modernism Museum Mount Dora is pleased to announce its new exhibition, Space Oddities: The Sequel. The exhibition opens on Tuesday, July 9th and will run until mid-2020. Space Oddities: The Sequel expands upon the Modernism Museum’s exhibition of mind-bending Post-Modern designs created by the radical 1980s design collective known as Memphis. This exhibit features hundreds of new Memphis design objects never-before displayed at the Modernism Museum. A members-only opening reception will be held on Wednesday, July 10th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the Modernism Museum gallery. This event is only open to 3MD Members; however, memberships will be available for purchase at the event. Individual-level Memberships start at $40 and several levels are available.     The Modernism Museum Mount Dora celebrates Halloween and David Bowie in a special viewing of Jim Henson’s cult-classic and musical fantasy Labyrinth, starring David Bowie as the Goblin King.     W.T. Bland Public Library Technology Lab Registration begins 1/2/2019 at 8:00 AM Learn how to use Excel to organize numbers and text in a spreadsheet format. Excel spreadsheets can be used for budgets, work and school projects, record-keeping, lists, inventories, and more. By the end of this class you should be able to create and format a spreadsheet; enter and edit data; and use basic formulas to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers in a horizontal row or vertical column. Attendees will use PCs in the W.T. Bland Public Library Technology Lab, which have Microsoft Excel 2016 installed.

    "Where is the flash? What about the batteries? What do these buttons do? Can my shots be edited on the camera? How do I focus my shots?" This class will answer these basic questions.     The popular 13 piece Mount Dora Jazz Band was formed in 2008 by local drummer Ted Innes.
