Black Bear Educational Workshop

Bears postcard

The City of Mount Dora and Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission are holding a Black Bear Educational Program at the W.T. Bland Public Library on Wednesday, August 1, 2018.

Mount Dora has seen an increase in bear activity in the past several weeks and we want our residents to be informed and educated about black bear activities, habits and safety for homes and neighborhoods.

Alyssa Simmons, the area Bear Biologist for FWC, will be hosting the educational workshop and the city is encouraging as many people as possible to attend. This workshop is open for citizens outside of Mount Dora to come and learn about black bear activity.  There will be handouts and literature for everyone to take.

The more informed we can be about Florida’s Black Bears, the more we can live in harmony with them! After the presentation, there will be time for Questions and Answers from attendees.
