  1. The Gifts of Christmas

    December 11, 2016, 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM @ First United Methodist Church

    "The Gifts of Christmas" is the theme for the Christmas musical at First United Methodist Church of Mount Dora.  It will be presented on Sunday, December 11 at 9:00 am and 11:00 am in the sanctuary at 439 E. Fifth Avenue in Mount Dora.  In addition to the children's choirs, the praise team, the Celebration choir, the hand bells, and the pipe organ, it will feature a string quartet from Stetson and dramatic & comic monologues mixed in with the music.  For more information, call 352-383-2005 or visit www.mtdorafumc.org.

    Saturday, December 17th Modernism Museum Mount Dora will host an origami workshop perfect for the holidays. Instructor Paula Davis will lead a class focused on creating the popular paper cranes of Japanese folklore. Cranes, often referred to as the “bird of happiness,” make meaningful gifts and add a touch of whimsy as a holiday decoration or ornament.
