Lisa McDonald joined the City of Mount Dora as the Public Information Officer in April of 2017. Lisa comes from a journalism background having started her broadcast career first in radio in 1995, then in 1997 working in local television news. Lisa was a news desk assignment editor, writer, photographer, videographer and social media expert for two local t.v. stations.
Lisa grew up in Winter Park and has lived in the Central Florida area since the 1970’s. After spending time in Europe, she went to Valencia College, where she received her Associates in Art, specializing in painting and drawing before taking a few years away from college to work in the corporate world. In 1993 Lisa started at the University of Central Florida, graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor’s in Radio and Television Communications.
Lisa lives in Oviedo and teaches yoga on the side in Central Florida. Lisa has taught Yoga with Firefighters in Mount Dora and specializes in several modalities. Lisa's hobbies include Drift Car racing and freelance photography. Lisa's son Max joined the Navy and shipped off in June 2019. Lisa is a member of the Florida Public Relations Association and is involved in local volunteering and Toastmasters Intl.
