Auto accidentThe Operations Division is under the general supervision of the Deputy Fire Chief. The Mount Dora Fire Department staffs two fire stations 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on a rotating shift schedule. The department consists of 21 career firefighters. Of those, ten are Emergency Medical Technicians and twelve are Paramedics, who are responsible for response to and mitigation of a broad range of emergency incidents. We respond to over 3,500 calls for assistance each year in the City of Mount Dora.

Day-to-day leadership of the Operations Division is provided by three Shift Lieutenants. The Shift Lieutenant is responsible for emergency operations on their shift. They are focused on the operational readiness of the department, ensuring that the station is adequately staffed. All equipment is in top operating condition and assigned personnel are always on the mark and ready to go.

Mount Dora Fire Department provides Advance Life Support (ALS) and delivers the highest level of care available outside a hospital emergency department. A wide array of diagnostic equipment including a defibrillator, a cardiac monitor/pacer and pulse oximetry coupled with a variety of medications means victims of sudden illness, especially sudden cardiac illness, receive the treatment they need to survive prior to being transported by Lake EMS to the hospital emergency department.

The Department’s fleet consists of two Engines, a 70’ Tower Truck, an ALS Rescue, an Attack Unit, and two Rescue Bicycles.
