Auto accidentThe Operations Division is under the general supervision of our two Deputy Fire Chiefs. The Mount Dora Fire Department staffs two fire stations 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on a rotating shift schedule. We respond to over 3,500 calls for assistance each year in the City of Mount Dora.

The day-to-day leadership of the Operations Division is provided by six Shift Lieutenants. The Shift Lieutenant is responsible for emergency operations on their shift. They are focused on the operational readiness of the department, ensuring that the station is adequately staffed. All equipment is in top operating condition and assigned personnel are always on the mark and ready to go.

Mount Dora Fire Department provides Advance Life Support (ALS) and delivers the highest level of care available outside a hospital emergency department. A wide array of diagnostic equipment including a defibrillator, a cardiac monitor/pacer and pulse oximetry coupled with a variety of medications means victims of sudden illness, especially sudden cardiac illness, receive the treatment they need to survive prior to being transported by Lake EMS to the hospital emergency department.
