Public Comments for Communication Media Technology Meetings
During Coronavirus, the City of Mount Dora will be conducting Meetings using Communication Media Technology.
These meetings will be streamed live on Facebook, but we will continue to allow Public Comments either by email, phone, or video. Please follow these instructions on how you can participate for our City Council Meetings.
CITY OF MOUNT DORA PROCEDURAL GUIDELINES FOR PUBLIC PARTICIPATION DURING COVID-19 EMERGENCY CONSISTENT WITH EXECUTIVE ORDER 20-69 In accordance with "Roberts Rules of Order", civility and respect should be afforded to all. Amid the COVID-19 Emergency, there are certain government functions, activities and services which must continue to be conducted. In the interest of protecting the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Mount Dora and the employees of Mount Dora who provide the services to those citizens, the City has determined that until further notice, all meetings and public hearings of City Council will be conducted by means of electronic transmission through communications media technology consistent with Executive Order 20-69, issued by Governor DeSantis on March 20, 2020. The City Council does not want these temporary procedural changes to impact participation by and input from the public. While all members of the public are encouraged to participate through any of the following formats, we must also adhere to Executive Order 20-91, issued by Governor DeSantis on April 1, 2020:
1. You may submit the Public Input Form through email to firstname.lastname@example.org by 12:00 (noon) on the day of the meeting for which you would like to participate.
2. You may call (352)735-7158, between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., on the day of the meeting in which you would like to participate. You will be given specific directions at that time related to the LIVE participation process. Please understand that you may be placed on hold or you may receive a busy signal, depending on the call volume; however, you are asked to be patient because your participation is vital to our process.
3. You may upload a video to Mount Dora Files anytime up to 12:00 pm on the day of the meeting in which you would like to participate. In order to upload a video, open your camera application, record a video of yourself by first stating your full name and address and then your question, comment or concern. After recording, open your internet browser and go to mountdora.files.com, select upload a file (you may need to scroll down) and then select the recording file or files that you would like to upload. All uploaded files will be reviewed to ensure that no inappropriate content has been included.
4. You may attend the public meeting in person at City Hall wherein the appropriate social distancing measures will be administered. While Public Input Forms will be available at City Hall; however, you are encouraged to fill out the Public Input Form ahead of time and bring the same with you to the meeting if you are planning to attend in person.
THE CITY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE TO READ ANY WRITTEN MESSAGE INTO THE RECORD OR TRANSMIT A VIDEO THAT HAS BEEN UPLOADED WHICH CONTAINS PROFANITY OR OTHER INAPPROPRIATE STATEMENTS. THE CITY ALSO RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REMOVE A MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC OR DISCONNECT A CALLER FOR USE OF PROFANITY OR FOR MAKING OTHER INAPPROPRIATE COMMENTS.
